The cost of a full roof renovation depends on many more factors than just the roof surface or the chosen covering.

In a quality full renovation, the existing roof structure, insulation build-up, accessibility, site logistics, demolition work, detailing and finishing level all play a major role in the final project cost.

Two homes with a similar surface area can therefore still require very different budgets.

For an average home in Belgium, a professional full renovation today often falls between roughly €35,000 and €90,000, depending on the chosen approach and finish.

Projects with extensive insulation, architectural detailing, natural slate, roof windows or bespoke finishing can of course go higher.

A serious full project also accounts for:

• site organisation and safety provisions
• scaffolding, crane work and logistics
• demolition and disposal of existing materials
• insulation build-up and airtightness
• specialised installation according to manufacturer guidelines
• detailing around chimneys, roof windows and connections
• warranties, training and experience of the installing team

On top of that, quotes in the sector sometimes deliberately exclude certain necessary works or finishes. The offer looks cheaper at first, but extras are charged during execution for items that are actually essential for a correct overall finish.

For clients, it is therefore important not to look only at the final amount, but also at what is effectively included in the execution of the project.

At D-RENO we deliberately focus on transparent full renovations with durable materials, correct execution and considered finishing, so that surprises during the works are avoided as much as possible.

To give visitors a more realistic view of the possible price range, we also developed our online budget tool. Based on your project, it gives a first indicative estimate of the order of magnitude for a quality roof renovation.

For a pitched roof on a standard home we typically count between 7 and 15 working days. Flat roofs are often faster. You receive a detailed planning in advance and we stick to it. You follow that planning live in D-OS, together with all documents and updates.

We mainly work with high-grade sarking insulation, as it is one of the most performant insulation methods for pitched roofs. The insulation is placed on top of the roof structure, which strongly limits heat loss and better protects the existing wooden frame.

To further verify the quality of the insulation build-up, we have our projects thermally scanned where needed by SynairX, our partner company specialised in drone inspections and thermographic analysis.

When there is sufficient space within the existing wooden structure, or when an attic floor can be fully insulated, mineral wool can be an interesting alternative in some situations.

Sandwich panels are mainly used for garages, garden sheds or specific outbuildings.

EPDM is a high-grade rubber roof membrane with a very long lifespan and excellent flexibility. Unlike traditional bituminous coverings, EPDM stays elastic under large temperature swings, which absorbs tensions far better and avoids cracking.

Bituminous coverings harden over time, whereas EPDM keeps its flexibility. Especially for renovations where durability, reliability and long-term performance matter, EPDM is the logical choice for us.

That is why we deliberately do not work with bitumen, but exclusively with high-grade EPDM systems.

Yes. We are a certified asbestos removal contractor. All asbestos work is carried out in-house, in line with regulations and with the correct disposal documents. From screening to removal and disposal, you have one single point of contact.

For insulation work in Flanders, the Mijn VerbouwPremie and EPC label premiums may apply. We provide an overview of the grants your project qualifies for, and assist with the application if you wish.
